Welcome to our website! This has been created for our ENG 353: Readings in Women Writers course at Michigan State University. Our group explored Amina Gautier's book At-Risk. We chose to look at stereotypes and controlling images of African Americans and how they have an effect on youth in society. We used specific examples of how these stereotypes were either fulfilled or contradicted in the short stories of At-Risk and the effect they had on the characters.
Feel free to explore and enjoy!
